& the art of balancing your life

If I look at the world around me, and also perceiving my own rhythms, it is easy to see that we are not living our lives much in balance. The balance between work and relaxation, the balance between giving and taking, the balance between nature and culture, the balance between my needs and yours.

In the larger picture there always is balance. If I would be a very restless person, I would automatically attract very layback personalities. If I would not have any planets in the element water in my chart, I would automatically attract people with an overdose of water in their horoscopes. If I would have been born during a Saturn-Uranus oppositions and would only live out the Uranus part, I would automatically attract the more Saturnian types. And by the way, if I would have been born in the 60'ies with the Saturn-Uranus opposition I would right now in these Uranus-Saturn times change from more Uranian to more Saturnian, or vice versa, from more Saturnian to more Uranian in order to balance the scales in my life on towards further wholeness. But it would feel like balance gone lost for a while, this new balance in the making.  So on the whole, together with our own past or together with the outer world, there always is balance.

For the times to come the accent for balancing is with the polarity:

"Cooperation - versus doing your own thing".

Currently Uranus is not yet in Aries (doing its own thing), so cooperation will be the stronger. To take care that things do not explode the other way around next year it is necessary to not suppress any feelings of freedom and independence in our goals for cooperation. So it could be a good idea to use the upcoming timeframe of Saturn in Uranus consciously to create more balance between that which you must do, and that which you wish to do.

Saturnus will enter Libra today, meaning Thursday October 29 at 20.10 pm. During the months of April-July 2010 it will return to Virgo, where the polarity is more between work and relaxation. Once again, as in the past 2 years.  But in August 2010 we will see the new polarity at work wholesale, i.e. personally, but also structurally in politics or on a mundane level.

Another factor to take into account is that Saturn in Libra may also mean

The karma of not making any choices.

This would be very much the case for the Pluto in Libra generation born in the 70'ies, a generation which on the whole finds it extremely difficult to make choices. Saturn is the ruler of Pluto right now, and Pluto in Capricorn may be forcing us to restructure things. Again, the choice needs to be right now taking responsibility for our liaisons with others yet making sure at the same time we are not suppressing our own need for independence. That could be the gift that the Pluto in Libra generation might bring to the world.

Times will not be easy in the months ahead. Taking responsibility keeps being the key and is not the most popular of things, yet it creates magic. Rather than getting depressed, open your heart, and move into the months ahead with an open heart in the restructuring of your life, privately and collectively by force of necessity.
