The Week ahead

This column is meant for people with a basic knowledge of astrological principles,

December overview

The poetry of NASA. Dr. Tony Philips wrote, of the upcoming eclipse December 21:
A quick trip to the Moon provides the answer why the eclipsed Moon is so red in colour: Imagine yourself standing on a dusty lunar plain looking up at the sky. Overhead hangs Earth, nightside down, completely hiding the sun behind it. The eclipse is underway. You might expect Earth seen in this way to be utterly dark, but it's not. The rim of the planet is on fire! As you scan your eye around Earth's circumference, you're seeing every sunrise and every sunset in the world, all of them, all at once. This incredible light beams into the heart of Earth's shadow, filling it with a coppery glow and transforming the Moon into a great red orb.

The beauty of this description is, that at the time of a lunar eclipse, indeed, the ego is eclipsed and the light of the Sun or Spirit prevails in us earthlings!. (Up until January 4 that is, when a solar eclipse is coming up, reversing everything for a little while. )

Wishing you a christmasseason full of light and wonder!

The chart of Julian Assange is on the Dutch weekahead.

Uranus is standing still, it will go Direct December 9, and currently we certainly see a lot of unpredictable matters going in, if only  the weather over here in the Netherlands. Uranus is by definition unpredictable so astrologers also have a hard time foreseeing Uranian effects:-)

Chiron is conjunct Neptune, and it meant for us that some really good inspirations re Chiron occurred, if and when I find the time I will translate our latest findings in English. Unfortunately, Saturn transit is nearing my Midheaven, which means I will lack one thing for sure in the years ahead, and that is.. .time..

Jupiter and Uranus are also together in Pisces, their conjunction is exact once more January 4 which is wonderful news for the new year, it will start WELL, especially for astrologers and likeminded people:-)

Mercury will go retrograde December 10, and it lasts until December 30. Things are not going as planned... but oftentimes they are much nicer in a retrograde period if you allow it to happen. The retrograde motion is from 5 degrees of Capricorn back until 20 degrees of Sagittarius, ask yourself in which house this falls in your chart:

House 1
Time to tell your own viewpoints, especially on those matters you had no chance to talk about before.

House 2
Time, maybe, to reorganize your administration or finances.

House 3
Be prepared for cancellations with appointments. When your computer breaks down or your car gives up, please note it may simply be a message that you ought to do something different. Keep your head clear and do go frantic to make things worse. Write on matters you wished to write about a long time but had no time for before.

House 4
Spend qualitytime with your family (or on the house)

House 5
Rebond with your children, or for instance, when you teach, with your students. Creative projects started a long time ago could be picked up again now.

House 6
Well, in itself December is often a busy month but this year you even may have to re-do things, or, take over from absent colleagues turning sick with the flue...

House 7
Appointments with others may go differently from what you expected, but, if not cancelled, much more fun too.

House 8
Normally this time had best be spent in silence, but now with Mercury retrograde it may be a better time to dig up old trauma, heal it, get into it, confront yourself with the past.

House 9
It is holiday time, for sure although travelplans may have to be altered. If you are busy studying, it is a good time for review. If you are publishing/writing it is a great time for correcting your material.

House 10
Old projects resurge. Go with the flow workwise.

House 11
This could be a great time with friends, or rather, with friends you haven't seen for a long time. i

House 12
Time to spoil yourself if sick, time to recuperate, time to isolate yourself.

Recently the 1st international Cyber Conference "Breaking Down the Borders" took place and it was a thrilling experience for both lecturers as well as attendants. Fancy being in Australia in your pyjama's in the early morning hours following a lecture from someone who is in a time zone late in the evening:-)  The organization ran very smoothly thanks to their election chart, and the workers of course:-), and a second conference is likely to happen.

There is a video available of my 1,5 hour talk on the Mercury transit cycle which I offer for 5 $, downloadtime approx 7/10 minutes, payment by paypal or creditcard. Email me if interested at
